Zach Tharp, Associate Pastor & Youth Minister

Zach grew up in Hawley, Texas and graduated from Hawley High School in 2001. He attended East Texas Baptist University and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 2004. Zach served as a Religious Program Specialist while in the Navy. After his Honorable Discharge from military service, Zach attended the American Broadcasting School in Arlington, Texas. He has worked as a News and Sports Director for KGAS Radio in Carthage, Texas and as the radio play-by-play voice for Abilene Wylie Lady Bulldog basketball and volleyball. Zach has also provided color commentary on the radio broadcast for Howard Payne University football, working alongside Texas radio legend Dallas Huston. Zach began as a Youth Intern at FBC Bangs in May 2012. He was called as Associate Pastor & Youth Minister in August 2012. Zach completed his Bachelor of Arts in Youth Ministry from Howard Payne University in 2014.

Zach is married to Kimbra, whom he stalked via Facebook until she relented and agreed to go out with him. They have one daughter, Isla Hope. Kimbra grew up as a member of FBC Bangs and she and Zach are very excited to be back in Bangs and to be part of such a wonderful, generous, and loving church family.
